5 TIPS FOR YOUR FIRST VOICE ACTING AUDITION
Getting Started
Everyone starts somewhere. Whether you're auditioning for a studio like ours or sending in a home recording, these tips will help you put your best voice forward.
1. Warm Up Your Voice
Spend 5-10 minutes doing vocal warm-ups before recording. Tongue twisters, humming scales, and lip trills will help you sound clear and controlled.
2. Read the Script Multiple Times
Don't just read it — understand it. Know who your character is, what they want, and what's happening in the scene. Context changes everything.
3. Record in a Quiet Space
Background noise is a dealbreaker. Find the quietest room in your house, throw some blankets over hard surfaces, and keep your phone on silent.
4. Give Us Options
Record 2-3 different interpretations. Maybe one serious, one lighter, one with more energy. Directors love having choices.
5. Be Yourself
Don't try to sound like someone else. Your unique voice is your greatest asset. We're looking for authenticity, not imitation.
